If you suddenly became a fan of Olympic champion and pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik after his medal-winning routines, you’re not alone. Elmo is right there with you.
Elmo shouted Nedoroscik out on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), saying “Elmo wants to be a specialist too!”
The furry red muppet said he might be a giggle specialist or a monster-hug specialist. Neoroscik’s response?
“Elmo, the great thing about specializing in something is you get to decide,” he posted to X. “I think you’ll be a great specialist in anything you end up choosing!”

The Worcester native (Nedoroscik, not Elmo) became an overnight sensation last week after his routine on the pommel horse during the Men’s Gymnastics All-Around final. His performance clinched a bronze medal for Team USA. Nedoroscik also won bronze for the individual competition in pommel horse.
Nedoroscik was dubbed “Mr. Pommel Horse” after his performances went viral. He became so recognizable in a matter of days, USA Gymnastics posted a picture of his glasses on a chalk stand with the caption “you know what time it is.”
