U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles won bronze in the women’s floor final after a challenge to her score on Monday morning.
With an original score of 13.666 that put her in fifth place, she opened an inquiry about her difficulty score, which was boosted up to 13.766 after undergoing review. This was enough to earn her a spot on the podium, giving Chiles her first individual Olympic medal in an emotional victory.

Meanwhile, Simone Biles won silver, her 11th Olympic medal, and came runner-up to Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade. The Paris Olympics have awarded her with a total of four medals, three of them gold. She is now the most decorated U.S. gymnast.
Earlier Monday morning, both Biles and Suni Lee fell off the balance beam, finishing in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Former U.S. Olympic gymnast and Needham native Aly Raisman reacted to Chiles’s bronze, posting on X in response to the emotional moment.

Raisman, who was captain of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team in 2012 and 2016, has been vocal about her support for the team on X, praising former teammate Biles, Lee and Chiles.
So proud of @Simone_Biles @sunisalee_ @ChilesJordan we love you!!!! ❤️🤍💙

In 2016, Raisman became the oldest woman to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of 22. After last week’s victories at the Paris Games, that title now belongs to Biles, who is 27 years old.
Last month, Raisman discussed her health issues on an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, revealing that she had been hospitalized twice for stroke-like symptoms. She was one of the gymnasts sexually abused at the hands of Larry Nassar, and opened up about her struggles with PTSD.
After retiring in 2020, Raisman now works for ESPN as an NCAA gymnastics analyst. The six-time Olympic medalist was also named an official hospitality ambassador for the Paris Games, along with Michael Phelps.
