From heartbreak to rule-breaking, easin’ on down the road with new friends to Greek island life with the fam, Broadway In Boston has announced its Lexus 2024-2025 Broadway In Boston season. Celebrating 21 years with Lexus, the season runs from Sept. 24 through August 24, 2025 and includes 10 thrilling productions that will wow audiences. Performances are split between
the Citizens Bank Opera House and Emerson Colonial Theatre.
“Broadway In Boston has been bringing the magic of Broadway to Boston for 40 years, and this anniversary season is no exception,” said Tivon Marcus, vice president of Broadway In Boston, in a statement. “There is so much to be excited for including Tony Award winning musicals, hilarious comedies and music you’ll just want to dance to. This is another season that is sure to electrify audiences across New England.”
The 2024-2025 schedule is as follows:
Sept. 24 – Oct. 6: “Mamma Mia!” at Citizens Bank Opera House
This story of a single mother and her daughter’s quest to know her real dad before her wedding is told through the timeless hits of ABBA.
Nov. 5 – 17: “& Juliet” at Citizens Bank Opera House
Created by the Emmy-winning writer from “Schitt’s Creek,” this new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told by asking the question, what would happen if Juliet lived?
Dec. 3 – 29: “Six” at Emerson Colonial Theatre
They may have been cast aside, beheaded, and died, but the six wives of Henry VIII are poised to take the microphone to remix 500 years of royal historical heartbreak.
Jan. 21 – Feb. 2, 2025: “Peter Pan” at Citizens Bank Opera House
The high-flying musical that has been thrilling audiences for almost 70 years returns in a new light with a new adaptation.
Feb. 4 – 16, 2025: “Funny Girl” at Citizens Bank Opera House
Considered musical comedy heaven, this musical about a girl from the Lower East Side who dreamed of life on the stage has one of the most iconic scores of all time.
Apr. 8 – 20, 2025: “Shucked” at Citizens Bank Opera House
A Tony Award–winning musical comedy with a corny sense of humor, the story is set in fictional Cobb County where residents search for a solution to the problem of their dying corn.
Apr. 22 – 27, 2025: “The Book of Mormon” at Citizens Bank Opera House
This outrageous musical comedy follows the adventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries who have been sent across the world to spread the Good Word.
May 6 – 18, 2025: “Kimberly Akimbo” at Emerson Colonial Theatre
A new musical about growing up and growing old, Kimberly is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush, and more.
July 8 – 20, 2025: “Back to the Future: The Musical” at Citizens Bank Opera House
Marty McFly and Doc Brown return to the stage this time in this adaptation by the iconic film’s creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis.
Aug. 12 – 24, 2025: “The Wiz” at Citizens Bank Opera House
A groundbreaking twist on “The Wizard of Oz,” this is the show’s first tour in 40 years, as you witness Dorothy’s journey backed by an iconic score of soul, gospel, rock, and 70s funk.
