A runaway box truck crashed into a utility pole in Somerville late Friday morning, pushing a car into a nearby home and knocking out power to dozens of residents.
Nobody was hurt in the crash, which happened just before 11 a.m. on Sycamore Street, 7 News Boston reported. The impact caused the utility pole to snap in half. Emergency crews taped off the area after the crash to get power back up and running, according to the report.

NBC Boston reported that EMS checked on the driver, who did not require medical care.
Eversource stated on its outage map that 48 Somerville customers were still without power as of 4 p.m. Friday.
Somerville police did not release details about what caused the crash or whether any charges were expected to be filed.
