A person was stabbed near Boston University Bridge Thursday morning, prompting a large police presence near BU’s campus, officials said.

Massachusetts State Police said BU police reported the stabbing to troopers just before noon, and Boston police responded “because the exact location of the stabbing was unclear” and could have crossed jurisdictions.

The victim was transported with serious injuries to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

BU sent out emergency alerts to students warning of the “large police presence” at Storrow Drive East and University Road around noon. A BU spokesperson confirmed there was no threat to the campus and no one from the university was involved.
