The Cohasset Police Department responded to a report of a squirrel’s head stuck inside a tree on Brewster Road on Monday.
Police said Officer Josh Kimball was “able to locate the little guy and attempt to help, but this squirrel was stuck,” the Cohasset Police posted on Facebook. “Really stuck!”
The officers then moved on to “plan B,” lathering the squirrel with hand sanitizer.
“After a few minutes of gentle twisting, turning, and guiding, Officer Kimball was able to free him,” the post said.
The officers then had a “quick photo op” with the squirrel.
“In sincere thanks, Mr. Squirrel gave Officer Kimball a farewell bite to his index finger through the gloves,” the police department wrote. “No skin broken, but we did laugh, and get a picture of Officer Kimball yelling in pain.”
